Ricotta French toast

Give this weekend favourite a healthy makeover with a dash of protein powder and a sprinkling of Natvia. Perfect for when you want a sweet, but nutritious treat!

Serves: 1

Ingredients

  • 1 slice wholemeal bread
  • ¼ tsp salt
  • 15g protein powder
  • 1 sachet Natvia sugar
  • 50ml low-fat milk
  • 1 egg
  • 10g ricotta
  • Olive oil spray

How to make French toast

  1. In a bowl, whisk together the batter ingredients (salt, protein powder, half the Natvia, skim milk, egg) until well combined.
  2. Place the bread into the batter mix and soak for 2 minutes.
  3. Spray a non-stick frying pan with olive oil. Place the bread with all the batter mix into the frying pan and cook for 2-3 minutes on each side or until golden brown.
  4. Top with ricotta cheese, sprinkle with Natvia and serve.
