Short Courses – Professional Development Programs
Once qualified, improve your existing skills and increase your ongoing professional
development by completing Continuing Education Programs. Enquire about the short courses
available and how to gain Continuing Educational Credits (CECs) to maintain current
certification.
Our CEC courses are:
Strength & Conditioning for Women (8 CEC Points)
A short course designed to help fitness instructors and personal trainers that have
underpinning knowledge of training clients in a gym environment. It provides the
trainee with knowledge of how to structure a program and conduct the training to
improve strength and conditioning. Download course outline below.

Functional Fitness (4 CEC Points)
Functional Fitness is a program designed to teach the fundamental principles of functional training,
and how to run a successful functional training session.

Fitness Coaching (7 CEC Points)
Fernwood Fitness Fitness Coaches link the client and their specific needs, to the products and services
available in the gym.

Mentoring (CEC Points are variable)
If you are a Level 2 or 3 Registered Exercise Professional with Fitness Australia, you’ll be eligible for
Continuing Education Credits (CECs) when you deliver mentoring through the Fernwood Learning Mentor
Program. This involves supporting a student through work placement as part of the SIS30315 Certificate
III and/or SIS40215 Certificate IV in Fitness.
